Jun Xue

In this stage of the world pattern and social context, I chose food and smell as my main medium. Regarding The food rubbish processing, the meaning behind the work I want to discuss is how humans rebuild trust and the silent process The power of tasteless or even visual effects.

My work is made of food. In the garbage room, the food odor liquid that I collected, captured, and investigated during the lockdown was mixed and spilled on the cardboard of the abandoned garbage room. They are rotten, expired, and important , Disgusting, adventurous taste. They all have human flavors, such as underarms-onions, semen-expired cream, etc. People value them, ingest them, discard them, and fear them.

When I took the smell that I collected for three months and went to the street, trying to let strangers smell them, people's performance and state undoubtedly showed the most instinctive emotions. Obviously this is a direct interactive feedback. In this particular period of fear of "smell" and "breathing", what is more important than human trust? While questioning suffering and criticizing history, how can humans rebuild trust and responsibility. This is rarely a politician will. Questions of thinking, at the center of the world of weighing the interests, these questions belong to people living.
